Junkyard Tycoon: Car Business — dismantle junk cars, sell the parts, restore the rides and build a scrapyard empire. Everything on this page is free to use in coverage of the game.
Everything a reviewer or editor needs in one place.
Junkyard Tycoon is a single-player business simulation about taking cars apart for a living. You start with one small yard and a tow budget. You buy wrecks at a market whose prices move on their own, drag them onto a ramp, and pull them apart in nine progressive stages — engine, battery and electrics, rims and brakes, glass and interior, fluids, and finally the shell, which goes into the press.
What comes out is inventory, and inventory is the actual game. Every part can be sold now into a live parts market or held in the stockroom for a better price later. Raw scrap can instead be routed into four production facilities — bricks, concrete, forestry and stone quarry — each with its own employees and production timers, which turns waste into construction materials worth more than the metal was. Vehicles that are worth more whole than in pieces go the other way: you restore them at the Institute, put them in the showroom, and sell them intact.
Progress does not stop when the app does. Dismantling lines, factories and showroom sales continue while the game is closed, so the loop rewards deciding what to leave running rather than how many sessions you can fit into a day.
The long game is the catalog. All 82 vehicle types come in multiple colour variants, and the catalog tracks every single one you have scrapped and every one you have restored — a completion goal that sits on top of the economy and gives a reason to buy a car you already know how to take apart.
What is in the build that is live today.
Cars, utility trucks and heavy tractors, each taken apart part by part rather than with a single tap.
Supply and demand shift prices continuously. Sell into a spike or stockpile and wait.
Bring a wreck back to pristine condition, display it in the showroom and sell it to high-paying buyers.
Bricks, concrete, forestry and stone quarry, each with employees, tools and production timers.
Every model and colour variant you scrap or restore is tracked. Completing an entry pays out.
24 specialised repair skills to train, changing what your yard can profitably handle.
Ten tiers of scanners to read a vehicle's value before you buy, and a press to crush what is left.
Incoming shipments bring rarer vehicles and parts as the yard grows.
Factories, showroom sales and dismantling lines keep working while the app is closed.
Every one shipped at launch rather than added later, across 86 localized store listings.
Junkyard Tycoon is free to download and includes optional in-app purchases and advertisements. Mini-games and the in-game stock market use virtual currency only and do not offer real-world financial rewards.
